Did you hear that?

I don't have a lot of visual updates to show off this time because most of the new stuff is audio. For the last month, I have been working on adding sound effects for everything, which includes smacking animals with a boat oar and frying bacon. Adding sound effects to actions in the game was easy, but finding the right sound was difficult and still is difficult. I was able to find a few good free punching and smacking sounds for commercial use, but the really good sounds would cost so I decided to record my own sounds.

I recorded myself frying bacon to get that perfect sound of sizzling and crackling. Then I recorded myself taking the first crunchy bite of bacon several times until I got a few very satisfying crunches.

For the animals, I didn't really go out and hit animals with an oar in one hand and a recorder in the other. I mixed sounds together, like for the bird being smacked I used the sound of a pillow getting punched and seagull calls.

The second update is the pause screen. While the pause button has been in the game and working, there weren't any options like you would find in most games. So I changed that and added the common options you would usually see like: resume, retry, change volume, and quit. There is still some cleaning up to do on the pause menu, but it technically is working as expected.
